Early Life and Education
Dennis Bonnen was born on March 3, , in Houston, Texas, and raised in Angleton.
His older brother, Greg, was born in Dennis graduated from Angleton High School in and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in political science from St. Edward's University in Austin in In , St. Edward's University bestowed upon him the Distinguished Alumni Award.
Political Career
During his undergraduate years, Bonnen served as a legislative aide to the Texas House of Representatives in and was a member of Republican Bob Dole's presidential campaign advance team in In , he won a seat in the Texas Legislature at the age of 24, while Dole lost his bid against Bill Clinton.
Bonnen was appointed Speaker Pro Tempore by then-House Speaker Joe Straus in He has also served as chairman of
